Basingstoke lost heavily away to Barnes 43-3. Stoke's points being a solitary penalty by Goodall which ironically put them 3-0 up. Only 12-3 down at half-time and with the wind at their backs Stoke did not capitalise although the effort was there. But they conceded late tries and with Civil Service winning Stoke have slipped to 11th in the league.
